We’re on the Ortega Highway (Hwy 74) between San Juan Capistrano and Lake Elsinore. The famous Candy Store marks the park entrance — when you see it, you’ve arrived.
Take I-5 to the Ortega Hwy exit (Hwy 74) at San Juan Capistrano. Head east 19 miles up the mountain. The Candy Store and the Ortega Oaks entrance will be on your right.
A scenic, winding two-lane road — give the rig about 40 minutes and enjoy it.
Take I-15 to the Hwy 74 exit at Lake Elsinore. Head west 12 miles — 3 miles past El Cariso Village. The Candy Store and the Ortega Oaks entrance will be on your left.
About 20 minutes from the lake, with big overlooks near the crest.
